This is yet another favorite in our household! Oregano Chicken. This recipe is actually just the “broth” that the meat is cooked in, so you could use this recipe with meats other than chicken and have it just as tasty. We use a lot of chicken and turkey breast in our house so these are the two that I have used it with.
Servings: Makes 4
1 tablespoon and 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon and 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Combine the melted butter or margarine, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, oregano and garlic powder. Mix well.
- Place chicken in an ungreased baking dish (I use a 9×9 baking dish). Pour the butter/oregano mixture over the chicken. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Baste juices over the chicken. Bake for an additional 15 minutes. Transfer the chicken to a serving platter and serve the pan drippings over hot cooked rice, if desired.
I actually don’t use the pan drippings as trying to make it a little healthier with the butter that is used. It keeps the meat moist and gives it a delicious flavor!
